Zoya Beach Collection Giveaway - U.S. Residents Only

**This is the same giveaway that I posted a few days ago. I had to redo the post because I'm technically challenged. It's a long story and has to do with how it was connecting with Facebook. If you entered before, don't worry, your entry is still intact. The form is the same as the last and is connected to the original document. No need to enter again! =)**

I'm so excited to announce my giveaway for Zoya's Beach Collection. When I swatched these, I loved them so much I knew I wanted to give a set away to one lucky winner!

I will be having two separate giveaways. After the winner is announced for Beach, I will open the giveaway for Zoya's Surf Collection! I was able to snag these collections during Zoya's Earth Day promo but it was still expensive so I can only offer these giveaways to U.S. residents. This was a hard decision to make because I love all of my readers. I simply can't afford international shipping this time. This giveaway closes on Thursday, May 3 at 11:59 p.m. I will e-mail the winner on Friday, May 4. If I don't get a response within 24 hours, I'll move on to the next winner.

OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air and Jade is the New Black

This is from the vault as you can tell by my long nails. Oh how I miss my long nails. =)
I need to have another swatchathon so I have things to show you!

Alright, this is two coats of Jade is the New Black with one coat of Fresh Frog of Bel Air on top. I sealed it with one coat of Seche Vite top coat as always. I really like this look. I think the Muppet glitters look so much better layered.

Layla Hologram Effect Mercury Twilight

Don't forget to enter my giveaway for Zoya's Beach Collection!

Oh how I love holos and I have a good one for you today, my friends. If you can see the holo effect in your nail polish inside, you know it's amazing. I took these pictures before my new camera arrived but you can still see how gorgeous this polish is. Let's look at the pictures:

The first three pictures were taken outside and the last was taken inside. You can still see the holo effect inside which is one of the reasons I love this polish so much.

Let's talk application. It was tricky for me because I didn't do my homework before putting this on. I didn't realize I needed to do anything special so I was very disappointed when I first tried to apply this. I tried a few different base coats and none of them worked. The polish slipped off of them creating bald spots and refusing to build. I saw how many great reviews the Layla holos got so I knew it had to be a user error.

This is how I got it to work. I lightly buffed my nails creating a rough surface for the polish to grip to. I used three thin coats of polish, one coat of Seche Vite and then one more coat of polish. I found this trick on Chloe's Nails, it's on the very bottom of the page I linked you to. I also finished off with another coat of Seche Vite because I wanted to wear this for a while and I didn't want it to chip. Even with the top coat the holo effect was very strong. The downfall of this polish is that it chips and peels off in about a day so don't bother top coating it. I've heard that this is pretty typical of holographic polishes. Lame! For the price, it needs to last longer than that.

I'm curious, do you have any tips and tricks for holos? I'd love to know, let me know in the comment section.

Butter London Lillibet's Jubilee

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne, Butter London released Lillibet's Jubilee. Lillibet's Jubilee is a silver foil with hints of lavender and tiny holographic particles. Don't let the word holographic get you too excited, this is a beautiful polish but it isn't what I consider a holo by any means. It has an insane sparkle that is almost blinding under the sun but it doesn't give off the rainbow effect you'd see in a true holo.

I have three thin coats on with one coat of Seche Vite. Application was like a dream, just like Butter Londons usually are. I recommend this polish even though it's not a real holo!

I showed this on Fish Egg Friday but here it is again!

P.S. I'm almost ready to tell you what my surprise is! Stay tuned!! ;)

Zoya Surf Collection

Zoya Surf is the shimmery half of Zoya's Summer 2012 collection. I love how opaque and gorgeous Zoya's cremes are but I think they have truly mastered shimmers. I love every single polish in this half of the collection. They are so packed with shimmer and shine, I couldn't stop looking at my nails when I wore these. All six shades have a metallic foil finish that is packed with shimmer that makes them glow. As always with Zoya, the formula was amazing for all of them. Each picture shows two coats and one coat of Seche Vite top coat.

I love love love Carla! I'm a sucker for purple, you'd die if you saw how many purples I have. I just can't help myself! Carla is a red based purple that is full of silver shimmer. I love how rich this shade of purple is. You. need. this.

This is a little bit more red toned in real life. Zoya describes it as a medium magenta, I see coral tones in it as well. It has gold shimmer which makes it look a little more orange in some lights. It's so bright and rich, I just love it.

Do you see how beautiful Meg is? Even with my sad little camera, Meg's beauty shines. It's a rich yellow green foil with an amazing shimmer that makes it pop. Love it!

I've said this before, I'm not a fan of the color orange. Myrta is an orange that I can wear and I not only like it, I love it. It's not too bright and loud and the shimmer is amazing in person. It's very rich and has a lot of depth to it. It has a little bit of a reddish/coral undertone which is probably why I love it so much. It reminds me of a richer version of China Glaze Riveting. This one absolutely glows.

Like Shelby, Rory has a bit of a lavender undertone. It has gold and silver shimmer making this unlike anything in my stash.

I think this may be my favorite out of the entire Beach & Surf collection. It reminds me of the ocean making it very appropriate for a summer collection! It's a beautiful blue green foil with gold and silver shimmer. I can't wait to put this on my nails again.

There you have it, I love this collection and hope you enjoyed my swatches and review. Pick these up if you have the chance, they are so much more amazing in person.

P.S. I have a HUGE surprise coming in a couple of days. It's pretty awesome, I'm very excited. =)

Zoya Beach Collection

I'm so excited to show you Zoya's new summer collection, Beach & Surf. Today, I'm going to show you Beach. Beach consists of five cremes and one creme/metallic. In order to prevent boring repetition, each swatch has two coats and one coat of Seche Vite top coat. Each shade has an amazing formula, very opaque, evened out quickly, and dried to a beautiful shine. Zoya never disappoints, they are my favorite brand of nail polish.

 Zoya Arizona
I'm not into orange, I don't love how they look on me but I like this one. Arizona is a lovely light orange creme that reminds me of tangerines.

 Zoya Shelby
I love bubble gum pinks, they are so fun and girly. Shelby has more blue tones than a typical bubble gum pink making it a unique shade.

 Zoya Lara
This is coming out a few shades lighter than it really is. It's more of a lightened magenta mixed with a dusty rose shade. I love how this looks with my skin tone, it's one of my favorites from the collection.

Zoya Reagan
I love berry shades so it was no surprise that Reagan is also one of my favorites. Reagan is a beautiful berry shade that has some blue undertones in it.

 Zoya Tracie
Tracie is a light yellow green creme with just enough silvery shimmer to make it look a little frosty or metallic. It wasn't my favorite, I'm  not a fan of the finish and this color isn't very flattering on my skin tone.

Zoya Wednesday
Don't you think this should be a black creme? I just can't get past the name. I absolutely love the color. It's definitely related to China Glaze For Audrey. Wednesday is a dusty turquoise with green undertones.

What do you think about this collection? Did you pick any up? Let me know in the comment section, I always love to hear from you.

China Glaze Magnetix II Collection Preview

I'm surprised to see that China Glaze is releasing a part two to their Magnetix line. The first must have sold really well. I know I enjoyed playing with this collection and look forward to trying the next polishes in this line out. I don't have a release date right now just pictures and polish names. Enjoy!!

Cold Fusion, Positively In Love, Bond-Tastic
Get Charged, Sparks Will Fly, Confused

What do you think? I would love to try on Confused and Bond-Tastic. The other colors I feel I've already seen from the different Magnetic lines out there. If the formula is better than the others, that may change how many I want. I hope the magnet is stronger than the last one was. It will need to be to pull off those designs!

Which ones do you have your eye on?

Nerd Lacquer Nebula

Nebula is the last Nerd Lacquer that I have to show you. I've really enjoyed all three Nerd Lacquers and look forward to trying more out. I've saved my favorite for last, Nebula. Nebula kills me with how stunning it is. It has a rich purple/red jelly base that is packed with several types of glitter. The most prominent colors of glitter I see are red, blue, and silver. It has micro and medium sized glitter. They seem to be either round or hexagon shaped. I've even spotted holographic glitter! Did I miss anything? Phew! This is another must have in my opinion. In case you missed it in my last two posts, this is where you can order Nerd Lacquer once it's restocked.

Nerd Lacquer Warrior Ethos

Those of you who know me well know I love the color red. I have red couches, my wedding colors were red, black and white, and I have a ton of red nail polish. There is just something about the color red that makes me happy. It's so bold, vibrant, and powerful. It's no surprise that I love this glittery red concoction by Nerd Lacquer. It's so complex, I'm sure I haven't spotted everything that's going on in this sparkly polish. By the way, does anyone know what Warrior Ethos means? I asked my nerd but he didn't know. I'll ask Mr. Google later. On with the pictures!

Warrior Ethos had a flawless formula. I only needed two coats, the red jelly base was very pigmented. I do wish I could have mixed my bottle up better. I have it turned upside down right now to help move all of the glitter that has collected at the bottom. For the most part it's very even. I love that this can be worn on it's own instead of needing to layer it. As for all of the glitter? I'm going to refer to the description Amanda, the mastermind behind Nerd Lacquer gave us. Warrior Ethos is "a bright blood red with black, iridescent, copper, and red glitter, plus medium black hexagonal glitter and large copper hexagonal glitter."

I've read that Amanda is in the middle of a move right now so it may be a while before you get the chance to snag this beauty up. Trust me though, it's worth the wait. By the way, in addition to the Etsy shop, Nerd Lacquers will be available at Ninja Polish and Harlow & Co. You can sign up for e-mail notifications (at Ninja and Harlow) when your favorite lacquers are restocked.

Do you have any Nerd Lacquers? What do you think? I love reading your comments so drop me a line!

Nerd Lacquer Antisocial Media

Whenever something is as popular as Nerd Lacquer, I wonder if it will live up to the hype. I'm here to tell you that it does. In fact, it will blow your mind with it's beauty. Was that dramatic enough? My pictures just don't do it any justice, it's so sparkly! When my package came in the mail, I opened it outside from sheer excitement. My jaw dropped when I pulled the bottles out. How can so much sparkle and awesomeness get in such a small bottle (they are regular sized bottles fyi)?? I'm convinced that Miss Amanda has magical powers.

I can't wait for the Nerd Lacquer Etsy shop to open again because I "need" more. Today I have Antisocial Media and two more sparkle bombs will be coming up soon. I suggest you start stalking the Nerd Lacquer site now because these tend to sell out fast....really really fast. I think it will be a little while before it opens again but I'm stalking it anyway.

Are you ready? Is your bib on? Ok, here we go!

Antisocial is a beautiful blue jelly packed with silver and blue microglitter and various sizes of blue, silver, and gold round and hex glitter. My description may be off, this is just based off of what I can see. I'm so glad I was able to get this, I absolutely adore it!!!
